A Note From the Festival Coordinator
.
It's been a pleasure to organize ‘A Month of Photography’ – this year’s festival is sponsored by Nikon® Canada and brings forth a combination of works showcased in a number of venues throughout Mississauga and Brampton.
.
Now in its 3rd year, the festival receives continuous support from notable galleries such as the Art Gallery of Mississauga, Art Gallery of Peel, the Living Arts Centre, UTM Mississauga Campus, Gallery Streetsville and The Village Gallery - all of which will provide exhibition space for the festival.
.
In addition, a selection of artists were invited to showcase their work at the Laidlaw Hall Gallery at The Living Arts Centre. This show, entitled 'camera works', is made possible through the generous support of Epson® Canada. All the works from this show were printed using the latest Epson printers, inks and paper.
.
Many thanks to Nikon® Canada, Epson Canada, CJ Graphics and all the advertisers for their support.
.
I would also like to thank our guest curator Kohila Kurunathan who reviewed the works submitted. I commend her for undertaking the enormous task of reviewing the works while keeping with the show’s commitment to present a mix of styles and artists.
.
Finally, thank-you to all the artists - art is a form of communication; by bringing art to the public, you take part in inspiring, educating and entertaining. Congratulations and thank you for sharing your passion.

About 'Art in the City'
.
Art in the City believes that art should be part of everyone’s everyday life… and part of everyone; an organization dedicated to supporting community artists and making the visual arts part of everyday life.
.
The purpose of Art in the City is to bring the visual arts out into the city of Mississauga, in public spaces with high traffic. By taking art out into public spaces, artists are given the opportunity to display and sell their work, and the general public is given art to chance upon within the city.
.
Art in the City coordinates exhibits and events for artists in various locations, organizing ‘A Month of Photography’ and ‘The Hotel Art Project.’
.
‘The Hotel Art Project’ is an opportunity for artists to exhibit and sell their works – photography, paintings, drawings, printmaking or reproductions. The exhibits showcase the works of various artists and give hotel visitors a feel of the city. Art in the City believes that you don’t just visit a hotel, you visit a city.
.
For more information on how to submit work to ‘The Hotel Art Project’ contact email info@art-inthecity.org.
